ABOUT THE WEBINAR
The COVID-19 Pandemic has become a catalyst for educational institutions to build resilience to new challenges in a relatively short period of time. The academe, especially private schools, is less prioritized by the government in terms of subsidies and financial support and must find solutions to continue teaching. These institutions must self-manage to minimize the economic and financial impact of the pandemic.
As such, schools are facing the burden of cost-cutting including downsizing their people to thrive financially and survive in the long run. The big questions employers (school administrators/officers) are facing are: 1) What are the bases for right-sizing? 2) How can schools legally comply with the DOLE ruling on redundancy and retrenchment? 3) How can they properly manage the right size of people? 4) What are the implications of downsizing to employees and management especially if they belong to a union?
This webinar will explore different viable strategies on right-sizing your workforce to avoid labor lawsuits, introduce the new arrangements to both surviving and retrenched employees, and address pertinent issues that may arise when your institution is unionized.
