The evolving needs of the education sector require that institutions be updated with the current rulings and implementation of government regulating bodies. The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) and Department of Education (DepEd) continuously develop programs and policies to ensure that the academic sector will be on a par with world standards.  A comprehensive understanding to decipher these recent rulings is needed to ensure proper compliance with these mandates. 


At the end of this session, participants will learn the legal development and implications of recent CHEd and DepEd rulings. Furthermore, they will be able to:

  1. Prepare school policies that are aligned to these recent rulings;
  2. Adopt measures to be compliant with these government mandates; and
  3. Get valuable  legal perspective from an expert.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Atty. Joseph Noel M. Estrada is a legal luminary in education law.  He, along with a group of lawyers, shaped the legal landscape of education in the Philippines by being a regular resource person of the House of Representative and Senate Committee on Education.  He regularly represents private education in policy consultations in DepEd, CHEd, and TESDA.  Atty. Estrada also helped draft “The Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013” otherwise known as the K to 12 Law.
